At Lake Charles Charter Academy we are charging our way into the future! As a Pre-K through 8th grade "Leader in Me" school, we are preparing our students for college and their future careers. From the time students enter our school until they leave, we are molding and shaping them as future leaders of our society. We offer a wide array of opportunities for growth and development that meets the needs of every child. Through our STEM Initiative, as a Louisiana A+ School, our Cambridge program of study and opportunities for high school credit, as well as our focus on social and emotional learning and meeting the needs of all learners, there is something for every child at our school!

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE 

CAMBRIDGE is a rigorous and engaging program that creates interactive learning environments that challenge students and prepare them for their next stage in life. Assessments are performance based where students demonstrate mastery. This program is designed to enable the success of all students regardless of background or socio-economic status. 

LEADER IN ME is an evidence-based, comprehensive school improvement model, developed in partnership with educators, that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Leader in Me schools are empowered to provide support to their children's physical, mental, social, and economic well-being. The Leader in Me is based on Stephen R. Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

2 TO 1 TECHNOLOGY RATIO: LCCA students use i-Pads (grades PK-2) and laptops (grades 3-8) during the school day and have the option of checking out a device for home learning and/or virtual use. 

LOUISIANA A+ SCHOOL (Arts Integration) through the George Rodrigue Foundation for the Arts. 

Louisiana A+ Schools began in 2013 as an initiative of the George Rodrigue Foundation for the Arts and is now its own public non-profit organization. Louisiana A+ Schools are a research-based whole school network with a mission of nurturing creativity in every learner through an arts-integrated school network. 

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS THROUGH STEM curriculum is the integration of science, technology, engineering, and math. It is a blended approach of project-based learning that encourages hands-on experience and gives students the opportunity to gain and apply "real-world" knowledge in the classroom. 

PARTNERSHIP WITH MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY for teacher preparation through school-based mentorinq and field experiences.
